AT&T to Increase Some Rates: The company said it will raise rates on certain domestic and international residential long-distance services to reflect increased costs. It expects the increases, which would take effect Sept. 29 pending review by the Federal Communications Commission, to boost revenue by about $107 million annually. The hike would be American Telephone & Telegraph Co.'s second in two months. Under the increases, the direct-dial day rate for interstate calls would increase by less than 1%, raising the average monthly residential long-distance bill, now about $17, by about 7 cents.
