Mercedes Rescinds Controversial Ad Rule: The North American division of the auto company had barred magazines from running Mercedes-Benz advertisements in any issue that contained material that could reflect negatively on the company or German products. The policy, which required signed agreements from publishers, was criticized because it could lead to censorship, a Mercedes spokesman said.
