Temple City : A Law Lesson From the Law

September 23, 1993

Eighth-graders at Oak Avenue Intermediate School will get a special lesson on law and order this year from sheriff's deputies, officials say.

The Board of Education and City Council agreed to pay $12,768 to have a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy teach a program on students and the law.

For 38 weeks, a deputy will teach the eighth-graders about why there are laws and how they are made, and about the courts, juvenile laws and dangerous drugs.
