September 23, 1993| Associated Press

Read any good books lately? If one changed your attitude about a person or issue, writing about the experience in 1,000 words or less could win you an all-expense paid trip for two to Washington, D.C. Deadline is Dec. 23 for "Books Change Lives," a national essay contest sponsored by the Library of Congress and Read magazine open to students in grades six through 12. For information, write to: Letters About Literature, Read magazine, 245 Long Hill Road, Box 2791, Middletown, Conn. 06457-9291.
