Walnut : Newsstand Seized, Man Says

September 26, 1993

Officials at Mt. San Antonio College have seized a newsstand on campus that offered free copies of an offbeat magazine and then destroyed 50 copies of the publication, said Mark Cromer, the magazine's co-publisher.

Cromer, a senior at Cal Poly Pomona, said Mt. SAC officials told him that he needed permission to install the newsstand on campus.

The 2,500-circulation quarterly magazine, which is called Low, includes mostly student contributions and is distributed at Cal Poly Pomona, the Claremont Colleges and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

Cromer said a Mt. SAC official, Glenn Cunningham, removed the newsstand on Monday. Cunningham refused comment and referred questions to his supervisor, who was not immediately available.
