Rupert Murdoch Agrees to Reopen New York Post: The media baron said he will resume publication of the money-losing tabloid and go ahead with his plan to buy it for about $27 million. The decision came after eight craft unions agreed to cross the picket lines of the Newspaper Guild, who went on strike Monday and shut down the paper to protest wage and benefit reductions in Murdoch's $6-million cost-cutting plan. Murdoch spokesman Howard Rubenstein said the Post will be back on the streets Friday morning and that Murdoch will complete his purchase of the paper this week.
