Irvine 11, Woodbridge 6--Jason Lezak scored five goals for host Irvine (10-4, 2-1). Chris Talbott scored five goals for Woodbridge (11-8, 2-1).

Saddleback 12, Tustin 10--Brett Trezise scored five goals and Robert Grosse added four for host Saddleback (5-8, 1-2). Trezise has a team-high 72 goals in 13 games for the Roadrunners. Saddleback goalie Austin Kirk had a career-high 19 saves.

Jim Lowe and Tom Valterria each had three goals for Tustin (9-10, 1-2).

University 12, Santa Margarita 11--Trailing, 11-9, late in the fourth quarter, University (10-4, 1-2) scored the last three goals of the game. Rich Stevenson scored with 1:11 remaining to give the Trojans a 12-11 lead. University jumped to a 7-2 halftime lead behind Eric Weiss and Dan Hayes, who each recorded two goals.

Esperanza 14, El Dorado 6--Ian Ching scored four goals and Peter Lange had 14 saves for visiting Esperanza (6-4, 1-0), the seventh-ranked team in the county. Christian Frid scored three goals for El Dorado (2-9, 0-1).

Los Alamitos 11, Cypress 4--Eric Ploessel scored five goals and Charles Brodsky had 13 saves for host Los Alamitos (8-5, 1-0).

In the Freeway League:

Sunny Hills 18, Fullerton 3--Carlo Franzia scored five goals for Sunny Hills (11-4, 1-0), ranked sixth in the county and second in Division II. Dion Burmaz and Justin Brechtel each added three. Ryan Vasquez had two goals for Fullerton.

La Habra 19, Troy 9--Dan Ploog scored a school-record 15 goals for host La Habra (14-7, 1-0). Ploog's total was one short of the county record of 16 set by Magnolia's Charles Pierce in 1984. Troy's Justin Link had four goals.

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 13, Valencia 1--Tad Murphy and Jeff Ritter each scored three goals for host Brea-Olinda (11-3, 2-0), the ninth-ranked team in Division III.

Eric Matthews and Tucker Lowe added two goals each for the Wildcats, and goalie Tim Bischel had nine saves. Bischel did not allow a goal until Sean Shevlin scored for Valencia one minute into the fourth quarter.

Western 16, Savanna 7--Bryon Verne scored four goals and Rick Roseli and Chris Cummings each had three for visiting Western (12-4, 1-0).

Villa Park 13, Santa Ana Valley 7--Kevin Bobzien scored five goals to lead host Villa Park (12-7, 1-0), the 10th-ranked team in Orange County.

David Vega scored three goals and Nick Rumps added two for Santa Ana Valley (0-1 in league).

Canyon 14, El Modena 3--Aaron Harries scored eight goals for host Canyon (13-4, 1-0). Jeff Hamilton added three goals and Connor Mann had seven saves for the Comanches, who led, 8-2, at halftime. Scott Mitchell had two goals for El Modena (6-2, 0-1).

In the Sunset League:

Servite 12, Fountain Valley 8--Brian Heifferon scored four goals and Jerry Smith scored three for Servite (9-4, 3-0), ranked eighth in the county.
