Ford May Offer New Vehicle: Ford Motor Co. plans to introduce competition for General Motors Corp.'s large Chevrolet/GMC station wagon truck by mid-1996, according to Ward's Automotive Reports. But Ford has repeatedly denied that such a vehicle is being developed. New Ford Chairman Alex Trotman has said that a large four-door station wagon-truck is the only segment in the truck market where Ford lacks a model similar to what GM has. GM's Suburban, essentially a station wagon on a pickup frame, has given GM a virtual lock on that end of the light truck market.
