A portion of Camarillo Airport will soon look like a parking lot under a plan to store as many as 1,500 new Mitsubishi automobiles on 10 acres at the facility.
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a proposal by the Department of Airports and an Oxnard importing company to keep the cars on an undeveloped lot at the airport for three to six months. In exchange, the county will collect an estimated $108,000 in rent from the company, Pacific Vehicle Processors Inc.
