Rejection and AIDS

January 13, 1994

* Excellent! Thank you, Rayford Kytle, for "Rejection Is the Servant of AIDS" (Commentary, Jan. 3).

As a gay man who had lots of trouble being honest with myself about my God-designated sexual orientation, I wish I had had such good guidance as this article offers.

Of course, judgmental Christians will write about others they see as gay sinners. But my Jesus had no condemnation for gay people, but plenty for the judgmental Pharisees he encountered.

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays is an organization that for the past 17 years in California has been exclusively dedicated to help families understand their gay and lesbian family members, and to create a better atmosphere of understanding in the community at large.

We have help lines, meetings, educational materials and a speakers' bureau. We can be reached at P.O. Box 24565, Los Angeles, 90024, and by phone at (310) 472-8952.
