Galoob Wins Video Lawsuit Appeal: The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Lewis Galoob Toys is entitled to a $15-million bond posted by Nintendo of America after a lower court judge ruled that Galoob's Game Genie video game enhancer had not infringed Nintendo's copyright. The $15 million represents profits lost to Galoob, based in South San Francisco, because of an injunction blocking Galoob for a time from selling Game Genie. A lower court judge had ruled that Galoob was wrongfully enjoined from selling the video-game attachment. Nintendo said it would appeal the latest ruling.
