Jim Doyle's single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth drove in Sean Kicherer to give host UC Riverside a 7-6 victory over Cal State Fullerton Tuesday. The loss stopped the Titans' 11-game winning streak.
Fullerton led, 6-5, entering the bottom of the ninth. Riverside had two on and two out when Titan relief pitcher Ted Silva struck out Dan Redington. The second-ranked Titans (12-2) rallied for two runs in the ninth inning on a suicide squeeze by designated hitter Bret Hemphill and a sacrifice fly by Jim Betzsold.
Jeff Ferguson had two hits and scored two runs and Hemphill, Brian King, Jeremy Giambi and D.C. Olsen each had two hits each for Fullerton.
