LeAnn Kazmer scored a game-high 25 points as Orange Coast upset top-ranked San Mateo, 68-57, in the quarterfinal round of the women's basketball State tournament Thursday at Solano College in Suisun City.

Orange Coast (22-12) used its outside shooting to open a 34-23 lead at the half. Flo Luppani had nine points, all on three-pointers, and Monique Sweet was four of four from the field. America Robledo also had 11 of her 16 points in the second half.

San Mateo (30-3), which has been the top-ranked team in the state the last two months, extended its defense to the three-point line in the second half. This move freed Kazmer, a sophomore forward. She had 17 of her 25 points in the second half.

Kazmer finished with a team-high 12 rebounds.
