Pressman showed he still has the winning touch. After a six-year absence from coaching, he led a mediocre Lancer team to a second-place finish. In his previous coaching position at Van Nuys Montclair Prep, Pressman guided the Mounties to four Southern Section titles from 1975-87. "We were real close to winning (the league championship) last year," Pressman said. "I really didn't think we were going to be a very good team initially, to be completely honest about it, but we had about five or six guys who really developed." Heading the list was Reiland, who was a second-team all-league pick despite limited experience at catcher. Cavaness and Howard also performed well as juniors. They both might earn starting spots in the rotation and share duties at first base.
