MISSION VIEJO : Saddleback District Gets 2 Top Officials

March 07, 1994

Saddleback Community College District has a new chancellor and Saddleback College has a new president.

Trustees last week signed former chancellor Robert A. Lombardi to a three-year contract at an annual salary of $145,000 plus benefits and expenses, returning him to the post he left in 1981. He replaces Richard Sneed, who retired in September.

Ned Doffoney was signed to a two-year contract as Saddleback College president at a $92,225 annual salary plus benefits and expenses.

Lombardi left the district to enter the private sector but for the last three years has been chancellor of College of the Sequoias, a community college district in Visalia in the San Joaquin Valley.

Doffoney succeeds Constance M. Carroll, who resigned in December, 1992, to become president of Mesa College in San Diego. He comes to Saddleback with 20 years of experience as an administrator. Since 1990, he has been acting vice president of academic affairs at Los Angeles City College.
