Florida Files Charges Against MetLife Agents: The state accused 87 agents of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. of fraudulent sales practices. The charges followed an agreement by MetLife that could lead to the company paying nearly $100 million in fines and restitution. The penalties are to settle charges that agents sold life insurance policies to people who thought they were purchasing retirement plans.
