Renting on the Run: Alamo Rent A Car has expanded its 60-second Express Plus check-in service to its location near John Wayne Airport.

With the system, customers can simply swipe their credit cards through a device at the counter, wait a few seconds for the rental agreement to print and then--after a quick inspection of their driver's license--head out the door to their waiting rental car.

The Alamo center at 3510 Irvine Ave. in Newport Beach is one of 37 locations that now have the system, and Alamo says it hopes to expand it to all locations worldwide by summer.

"Alamo Express Plus is very popular with business travelers who want fast and convenient service, and we're seeing a sizable increase in our share of corporate business," said Bob Coffey, an Alamo vice president.
