In another Sunset League match:

Ocean View 3, Westminster 0--Jerry Johnson had a team-high eight kills for the Seahawks (2-2, 1-1). Westminster is 0-2 in league.

In the Garden Grove League:

La Quinta 3, Santiago 0--Kevin Doane had a match-high 10 kills and four blocks for La Quinta (3-2, 2-0). Santiago drops to 1-3, 0-1.

Rancho Alamitos 3, Garden Grove 1--Jay Anderson had 17 kills, and Ben Lam added 14 for Rancho Alamitos, which won, 12-15, 15-13, 15-13, 15-9. Mike Blackner had 16 kills for host Garden Grove (1-4, 1-1).

Pacifica 3, Bolsa Grande 2--Ian Cheesman had 19 kills, Mike Parsons added 18 and Jake Currier had 40 assists to lead Pacifica, 15-4, 16-14, 15-17, 18-20, 15-12. Pacifica improved to 1-4, 1-1. Mike Porter had 18 kills for Bolsa Grande (3-5, 0-2).

In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 3, Irvine 2--Though Corona del Mar (3-1, 1-1) started off slowly, losing its first two games, the Sea Kings turned it around with a 20-18 victory in Game 3 and came back to win the match, 13-15, 8-15, 20-18, 15-13, 15-5.

Brooks Hoppe had 30 kills and Ryan Coleman added 24 for Corona del Mar.

Irvine is 2-2, 1-1.

Newport Harbor 3, University 0--Mitch McCoy had 18 kills to lead Newport Harbor, 15-8, 15-4, 15-1. Eric Vallely and Greg Slick each had nine kills and Wes Badorek had six kills and two blocks for the Sailors (2-2, 2-0). University fell to 1-1 in league.

Tustin 3, Santa Margarita 1--Danny Tcheng had 13 kills and five blocks for host Tustin (3-1, 2-0), which won, 15-1, 16-14, 10-15, 15-6.

Woodbridge 3, Saddleback 0--Steve Jobes recorded 11 kills, Jamie Jankowski added nine, and Jeff Foster had 26 assists to lead Woodbridge, 15-5, 15-6, 15-7. Woodbridge improved to 1-3, 1-1. Saddleback is 0-2 in league.

In nonleague volleyball:

Capistrano Valley Christian 3, Arrowhead Christian 0--Brandon Floerke had 12 kills, and Mike Mattson added 10 to lead Capistrano Valley Christian, 15-7, 15-5, 15-13.

Esperanza 3, El Modena 0--Mark Alleman and Mike Allison had 15 kills each for visiting Esperanza (2-2), which won, 15-11, 15-10, 15-0.

Laguna Beach 3, Capistrano Valley 2--After losing the first two games, Laguna Beach came back to win, 7-15, 15-17, 15-8, 15-10, 15-11.

For the Artists', Dan Styles had a team-high 36 kills and Beau Bianchi had 21. Kurt Nelson also had 77 assists and Szilard Kovacs had 13 blocks.
