Here are some of the places to find improvisational work in the Los Angeles-Orange County area:

The Acme Comedy Theater: 5124 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood. Acme's new show, "Acme Survival Kit," plays Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. There are also improv shows Sunday and Thursday. (818) 753-0650.

Comedysportz: Tamarind Theatre: 5919 Franklin Ave., Hollywood. The group performs competitive team comedy improv. Match time is 10:30 p.m. Saturday. (213) 856-4796.

The Alumni Players present "The Harold" at the Improv, 8162 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, Sundays at 8 p.m. (213) 651-2583.

Groundling Theater: 7307 Melrose Ave., Hollywood. The top Groundlings perform in "Groundlings Fondue Party" Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 8 and 10 p.m. Their new show, "Gettin' Some," begins April 15. The all-improv "Cooking With Gas" takes place Thursdays at 8 p.m. (213) 934-9700.

Improv info-- Jennifer Coolidge is the Groundlings performer in the photograph that ran on page 1 of Friday's Calendar. She was misidentified in the caption. In the related story on Los Angeles improv, the wrong day was listed for QBalls Improv Comedy--the group performs Saturdays at 8 p.m. at QBalls Billiard Club in Pasadena.
