Citing a shared philosophy of more police and tougher anti-crime laws, the Los Angeles Police Chiefs Assn. on Wednesday endorsed Gov. Pete Wilson's reelection bid.
"When Pete Wilson says that every Californian has a fundamental right not to become a crime victim and not to live in fear--these are the words of a fighter, not a liberal politician with no record on crime," said Hawthorne Police Chief Stephen Port, president of the group that represents more than 40 police chiefs in Los Angeles County.
