Language Lapse

April 17, 1994

This is both a thank you (the section is wonderful, I love it) and a correction. The letter from Anatol Charey on the bazaars in Istanbul (March 27) refers to a merchant's son who speaks many languages. The first language mentioned is not Latino, but Ladino (an archaic blend of Hebrew and Spanish).
