May 05, 1994| Associated Press

KABUL, Afghanistan — Rockets slammed into a crowded market and other parts of Kabul on Wednesday, killing at least four people and wounding 100, hospital officials and witnesses said.

Afghanistan's battered capital has been ravaged by rocket exchanges between rival Islamic groups that have been vying for power since overthrowing a Communist regime in April, 1992.
