SANTA ANA : Magic Kingdom Will Make Tickets Appear

May 06, 1994

More than 200 low-income preschoolers whose planned trip to Disneyland appeared to be fizzling because they couldn't sell enough chocolates to pay for it got word Thursday that Disneyland will donate the tickets.

Diane Thomas, spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Unified School District, said children from the Head Start program had raised $6,000 from candy sales, enough to pay for 490 parents and students. But that was 206 short of the group's number.

The children who would have been excluded were told Thursday that Disneyland would give them the extra 206 tickets for the May 20 trip.

The Santa Ana school district administers the federally funded Head Start program.
