A 21-year-old motorist was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after his speeding automobile allegedly struck a minivan and caused it to roll over on the San Diego Freeway, ejecting a 15-year-old girl who later died, the Highway Patrol said Sunday.

Jose Isidro Gonzales Cisneros of San Juan Capistrano was taken into custody after the crash at 4 p.m. Saturday north of the Ortega Highway exit, according to a CHP spokeswoman.

The victim, Carolina Aparicio of Hawthorne, was a passenger in a minivan headed south, the spokeswoman said.

According to authorities, Gonzales was speeding, changing lanes rapidly and driving recklessly when he hit the minivan in the front, causing the van to roll over and eject Aparicio.

She was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where she died of her injuries.
