May 30, 1994

Jake Benz hit a three-run homer against Ted Silva in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday night to give Oklahoma State a 13-11 come-from-behind victory over Cal State Fullerton in the NCAA Midwest I Regional at Stillwater, Okla.

Benz's homer capped a five-run rally by the Cowboys.

Fullerton plays Memphis State today in an elimination game. The winner plays Oklahoma State tonight for the right to advance to Omaha for the College World Series.

Fullerton reliever Chad Rolish took an 11-8 lead into the ninth, but was replaced by Silva with one out and two runners on. Carl Grinstead doubled to left, driving in both runners, and Scott Doma walked.

Silva struck out Roberto Lopez before Benz hit his homer to right to end the game.

Adam Millan had three hits and drove in four runs for Fullerton.
