Memorial Day Weekend Box Office : A Mighty Big Take at the Cash Register

Led by "The Flintstones" and "Maverick," the movie industry narrowly set a box-office record for the Friday-through-Monday Memorial Day weekend, with a total gross of $101.47 million for all movies in the market. The previous record Memorial Day weekend was in 1992, when "Lethal Weapon 3" and "Alien 3" led the box office to a total of $101.39 million for all films in the market.
