A man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of kidnaping and raping 15 women in the Wilshire and Hollywood areas over the past four weeks.

Sean Patrick Mitchell, 33, of Los Angeles, allegedly began his crime rampage by kidnaping lone women coming out of restaurants. More recently, he allegedly began kidnaping and sexually assaulting women in pairs, said Los Angeles Police Lt. Ross Moen.

Most of the victims were white brunettes in their early 20s who were abducted while leaving restaurants, then robbed and raped, Moen said.

Bail was set at $2.5 million.
