Yemen Peace Talks Canceled

June 19, 1994| Associated Press

SANA, Yemen — Peace talks were called off Saturday and northern forces in Yemen's civil war threatened to storm the southern stronghold of Aden unless the south ended its month-old secession.

The ultimatum was given as the Egyptian foreign minister reported that cease-fire talks would not take place today in Cairo as planned. Both sides had agreed Friday to attend the U.N.-arranged talks.
