Ruling on English

July 02, 1994

Regarding the Supreme Court's decision to let a lower court ruling on English-only in the workplace stand (June 21):

Three cheers for the highest court in the land. The justices' decision to let the lower court's ruling stand struck a blow against cultural separation and for English as a common language. Perhaps there is a chance for us to deal with the divisive multicultural and separatist movements that have plagued us in recent times.
