This Isn't the Kind of Reaction Angels Want

July 02, 1994

Regarding the story of June 23:

Why do fans cheer at Anaheim for the Red Sox, Yankees and Mariners? Simple. They are winners. Fans hate a loser. The Angels are losers, Mr. DiSarcina. They stink. Their management stinks. Yes, you are still in the race in the worst division in baseball, but you are more than 10 games under .500.

You want cheers? Go to the bank, cash your check and give yourself a big cheer for being a millionaire.

Someone might want to tell Don Fehr that the Angels' pitching staff has already been on strike since April, and that it isn't helping his cause.
