FEARSOME TWOSOME: A 48-member, all-time National Football League team was announced Tuesday, and guess how many Los Angeles Rams players were on the team. Nobody on offense, but Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen, part of the Fearsome Foursome defense of the 1960s Rams, made the defensive team (C10). The other two on that "Foursome"? Lamar Lundy and Roosevelt Grier. . . . The all-time team was compiled by a committee of former players, media types and NFL officials. And if you're wondering--yes, O.J. Simpson is on the list too.

HOT BOX OFFICE: If you missed Barbra Streisand at the Pond in Anaheim last month, if you missed her Home Box Office special Sunday night taped from her final stop at The Pond, then here's what you missed: HBO says it was the highest-rated special in its history, drawing an estimated 11.2 million people, according to figures supplied by the Nielsen ratings. . . . You can still share in the aura: A concert album from the Streisand tour is in the works, and maybe a video.

IF THE NAME FITS: The Orange County Bar Foundation has set up a new award to recognize people who have contributed greatly to its community-service programs. It's named after former foundation president Robert (Sam) Barnes. This year's first winner? Robert (Sam) Barnes. . . . The Irvine attorney is also past president of the county bar. He was credited when given the award with "single-handedly leading the Bar Foundation from struggling grass roots to a successful nonprofit organization."

ARMED & ORGANIZED: Two years ago, Aliso Viejo businesswoman Audrey Prosser was frustrated by lobbying in Washington for AIDS research and seeing money snipped from its budget. She's heading back soon to fight for a gender-equity bill. But this time she's better armed. She's taking along a local contingent from Women in Business. . . . "This time I know a little more about how the process works," she says. "You need support to win anything in Washington."
