West Hollywood: Praise for City Council

August 25, 1994

I would like to thank and congratulate the West Hollywood City Council on their recent deliberations on social service program spending for the next fiscal year.

While under immense pressure and frustration, they performed with eloquence and perseverance; perseverance in maintaining current levels of commitment to the many essential organizations and programs that serve the residents of West Hollywood.

I am particularly grateful to see my tax dollars go to such organizations as Project Angel Food, AID for AIDS and various senior programs whose work we could hardly live without. While government on higher levels seems to accomplish less and less as each budget is deliberated, I am satisfied that this council has made its social commitment to the residents of West Hollywood a sacred entity.

I do not often compliment the council on their actions, but I would like to thank Mayor Abbe Land, Pro-Tem John Hellman and council members Paul Koretz, Steve Martin and Sal Guarriello for a job well done.
