LOS ALAMITOS : Heza Fast Man Wins Feature

October 01, 1994|STACY PIGOTT

Trainer John Bassett only brought 10 horses to Los Alamitos this year, but if the other nine are anything like Heza Fast Man, California trainers had better watch out.

Heza Fast Man, who was making his Los Alamitos debut, won the $20,000 Vandy's Flash Handicap on Friday night under Henry Garcia by a neck.

Heza Fast Man went 400 yards in 19.87 seconds to earn $11,000. The 3-year-old colt previously won the Texas Classic Futurity at Trinity Meadows in Weatherford and finished second in both the All American Futurity and All American Derby at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico.

Time For Royal Cash finished second in the Vandy's Flash, a half-length in front of Assured Dash.
