October 06, 1994

Attendance at the 67th Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, which ended its run last weekend, dipped slightly this year, officials said Wednesday.

A total of 1,365,631 guests visited the fair over 24 days from Sept. 9 through last Sunday--36,245 fewer than in 1993. The record of 1,612,097 was set in 1991.

Neil O'Dwyer, the Fair Assn.'s vice president of administration and racing, said the 1994 fair was the safest in many years.

"We had our usual share of incidents, but they were minor," he said. "Everybody, including our own employees, has shown a greater awareness and concern for safety-related issues.
