GARDEN GROVE — Ryan Johansen directed second-half touchdown drives of 77 and 74 yards to lead Pacifica past Santiago, 15-3, in a Garden Grove League game at Garden Grove High.

Santiago's Jose Palacios booted a 32-yard field goal in the second quarter to give the Cavaliers (2-4, 1-1) the lead at halftime, but the Mariners wasted little time in pulling ahead in the second half.

Starting from his 23, Johansen completed five of seven passes for 59 yards--including a five-yard touchdown pass to Mike Parsons--to give Pacifica (2-4, 1-2) the lead for good. Johansen connected on three of four passes for 67 yards on the Mariners' next possession, which culminated in a five-yard touchdown run by Rudy Gonzales with just more than 9 minutes remaining in the game.

Overall, Johansen completed 10 of 19 passes for 169 yards. Gonzales led all rushers with 71 yards on 24 carries. Pacifica's Parsons caught five passes for 89 yards.

Cavalier quarterback Christian Cortez struggled all evening, completing eight of 21 passes for 90 yards. While Palacios led Santiago rushers with 53 yards on 14 carries.
