Curtain Up! A Magazine Special : Your Guide to the Civic Arts Plaza

October 16, 1994

Ventura County's newest cultural venue opens this week, when Thousand Oaks unveils its sparkling 1,800-seat concert hall in the city's Civic Arts Plaza.

Curtain Up! is a special magazine that will take readers inside the $64-million complex for a close-up guided tour of the facility and the people who brought it to life after years of planning and wishing.

The 80-page magazine also includes seating charts and other information designed to make it useful long beyond the opening performances with Bernadette Peters and the Conejo Valley Symphony.

In The Ventura County Section

The shantytown stretches more than two miles up the Ventura River, the county's oldest and largest homeless community and one of the last of its kind in California. A special report on the people who live there and the increasing pressure to move them out of the riverbed into a homeless campground. B1
