October 16, 1994

The Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation has received a $1.25-million federal grant to create a program, based on its model of managed care for people with HIV and AIDS, for medical providers nationwide.

The five-year grant, allocated by the Bureau of Health Resources Development, allows the foundation to study and monitor its plan, designed to improve patient quality and lower costs, for other HIV and AIDS service providers.
