RECORD RACK

October 23, 1994|Randy Lewis

Clint Black, "One Emotion,"(**) RCA. Black nicely broadens his musical vocabulary with some Creedence swamp rock, heartland rock and even country lounge jazz. The willingness to stretch is here--too bad he and his main songwriting partner, Hayden Nicholas, have so little new to say. "Untanglin' My Mind," which Black wrote with Merle Haggard, is the standout.

New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
