In another Sunset League match:

Huntington Beach 3, Esperanza 1--Melissa Wendt had 24 kills to lead Huntington Beach, 15-13, 12-15, 15-7, 15-3.

In Orange League girls' tennis:

Brea-Olinda 10, Magnolia 8--After losing her first set, 6-3, Aimee Kenney came back to win her next two, 6-4, 7-5, to lead host Brea-Olinda (14-5, 8-1). Magnolia is now 5-9, 2-7.

In the Sea View League:

Woodbridge 11, Newport Harbor 7--Natalie Exon swept her sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-4, in the fifth-ranked Warriors' upset over No. 4 Newport Harbor (9-5, 5-3). Woodbridge is 14-3, 6-2.

In nonleague water polo:

Riverside Poly 11, Servite 9--Riverside Poly, top-ranked in Division V, overcame an 8-7 halftime deficit against Servite, ranked first in Division II. Bill Howard and Brian Heifferon had three goals each for the Friars (16-7).
