October 27, 1994|Associated Press

Tremain Mack, a reserve defensive back for Miami, has been suspended indefinitely from the team after an altercation with police that led to his arrest.

Mack was charged with battery on a police officer, resisting arrest with violence and driving under the influence. He will not play Saturday against Virginia Tech and is not practicing with the team this week, Coach Dennis Erickson said.

According to Metro-Dade police, the altercation occurred early Sunday after an officer observed Mack driving erratically with a flat tire. Mack is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 14.
