Digital Equipment Unveils Low-Priced Venturis PCs: In a bid to solidify its presence in the personal computer business, the nation's third-largest computer maker unveiled its new Venturis line of eight low-priced machines. The new family, whose models are priced from $1,079 for the Digital Venturis 433sx to $1,899 for the Digital Venturis FP4100, the company said in a statement. The Venturis line is the first in a series of new products it will unveil this week, the bulk of which will be announced on Thursday. "We're refreshing our entire line" of products, said Robert B. Palmer, president and chief executive. Loss-ridden Digital Equipment, which has vowed to return to profitability at some point during the fiscal year ending next July after three years of red ink, views the personal computer business as one of its bright spots.
