COUNTYWIDE : OCTA Seeks Ideas on Fullerton-Irvine Link

October 31, 1994|MIMI KO

The Orange County Transportation Authority is asking for the public's help in finding ways to improve transportation.

Public comments are being sought to help OCTA decide whether a rail or other high capacity transportation system should be built for a 28-mile-long corridor stretching from Fullerton to Irvine, passing through Santa Ana.

OCTA officials will be deciding what type of system--bus, rail or special car-pool lanes--should be considered, where the system should go and whether it will be underground.

A decision is expected to be made in early 1996 and the third in a series of public meetings on the subject is set for Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Irvine City Hall, 1 Civic Center Drive.

For information, call OCTA spokeswoman Elaine Beno at (714) 560-5571.
