Director of Saddleback College Gospel Choir Selected

MISSION VIEJO — Carver Cossey of Laguna Niguel has been chosen to lead Saddleback College's new gospel choir, which will become part of the music department's performance curriculum in the spring semester.

The choir will be open to residents of all ages. Rehearsals will be on Mondays, from 7 to 10 p.m., starting Jan. 23.

Cossey is a soloist and chorister with the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers and Pacific Chorale, and has directed several classical, African American, folk and jazz programs for the two groups.

Cossey studied music, drama and communications at Saddleback College, Cypress College, UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton.
