NICOSIA, Cyprus — Iran's 100-year-old senior religious leader is terminally ill, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported Monday.

A doctor treating Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Ali Araki said his condition "has deteriorated over the past few days."

Iranian authorities designated Araki the top spiritual guide of the world's estimated 200 million Shiite Muslims last year.
