November 11, 1994|GREG RIPPEE

Due to Veterans Day, federal and state officials will close their earthquake assistance centers today and Saturday in Fillmore and Simi Valley.

Telephone services for earthquake assistance also will be unavailable today and Saturday.

The offices, jointly operated by the state Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will reopen to the public on Monday. So will telephone services.

In the wake of the Jan. 17 earthquake, individuals, families and businesses have been able to register for assistance at the centers during business hours Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. They may register by calling 1-800-462-9029.

For those seeking assistance, including Small Business Administration loans, the registration deadline is Nov. 17--the 10-month anniversary of the Northridge earthquake.

The Simi Valley office is at 59 Tierra Rejada Road and the Fillmore office is at 552 Sespe Ave.

General information is available at 1-800-525-0321.
