EU Says Airlines May Get Special Aid: The European Commission, the executive body of the European Union, said carriers that have received state aid can get more under special circumstances, a decision that could help Spain's cash-strapped national airline, Iberia, but threaten successful airlines such as British Airways and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. British Airways and KLM, vocal opponents of aid, and other carriers have sued to overturn the $3.2 billion in state aid recently granted to Air France. If the suit, brought in the European Court of Justice, is successful, the commission could be forced to reconsider its position.
