PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Hostetler Able to Work Out

November 17, 1994|STEVE SPRINGER

The Raiders had a big day on the field Wednesday. They didn't win a game or even score a point.

No matter.

Quarterback Jeff Hostetler participated in his first full practice since jamming three toes on his left foot in last Sunday's game against the Rams. He was able to throw successfully.

Offensive tackle Gerald Perry returned to practice for the first time since breaking his right ankle a month ago and was able to go through the drills with only "a little pain."

And safety Derrick Hoskins, who sat out last week's game against the Rams because of a sprained ankle, returned to practice and said he was ready for Sunday's game at the Coliseum against the New Orleans Saints.

The only bad news was the absence of cornerback Lionel Washington, who sat out Wednesday's practice because of an injury to the lower left leg. Washington, who was injured last Sunday, is scheduled for X-rays.

The Raiders are already missing starting cornerback Albert Lewis, who will be sidelined for the second game in a row this Sunday because of a sprained right knee. . . . The Raiders added cornerback John Reece to their practice squad. Reece, from Nebraska, was taken in the fourth round of the 1994 draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
