Cleveland 21, Jefferson 6--The Cleveland defense had four second-half interceptions as the Cavaliers advanced in the 3-A playoffs at Huntington Park.

Jefferson defensive back Raymond Allen returned an interception 96 yards, the only touchdown for the Democrats.

Cleveland receiver Junior Brignac had four receptions for 44 yards and hauled in two second-quarter touchdowns for the Cavaliers. Quarterback Johnny Lopez completed 10 of 20 for 91 yards.

Intercepting passes for Cleveland were Brignac, who had two, and defensive backs Russell Burwell and Chuma Lewis. Burwell also rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown in 14 carries.
