* CHRISTMAS PARADE--Approved the closures from noon to midnight of the streets on the route of today's Hollywood Christmas Parade. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Sunset Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue and proceed west to Highland Avenue, north to Hollywood Boulevard and east to Bronson Avenue. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce expects a crowd of more than 1 million to see the parade.

* HOLLYWOOD AIDS HOUSING--Authorized the Los Angeles Housing Department to issue a $111,000 loan to the St. Andrew's Community Limited Partnership for the rehabilitation of the St. Andrew's Bungalow Court at 1514-1544 N. St. Andrew's Place. The building will provide affordable housing for people with AIDS or who are HIV-positive. Rehabilitation of the 16-unit facility will include new roofing, replacement of plumbing and electrical systems, and installation of new kitchen and bathroom fixtures.

* SPEED LIMITS--Approved raising the speed limit on Sawtelle Boulevard between Palms Boulevard and Venice Boulevard to 40 mph from 35 mph. Also approved raising the speed limit on Culver Boulevard between Nicholson Street and Pacific Avenue to 30 mph from 25 mph.
