A 35-year-old Los Angeles man has been arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a 12-year-old girl, police said.

Lavelle Dillard was booked on suspicion for the crimes that occurred Monday, said Los Angeles police spokesman Rigo Romero.

The girl was pulled into a van in the 3800 block of Santa Rosalia Drive, assaulted and dropped off near Audubon Middle School, Romero said.
